The Resurrection of Rust comprises newly recorded renditions of six songs drawn from the 1972 repertoire of Elvis Costello's first band Rusty. Costello and his partner in Rusty, Allan Mayes, reunited 50 years later for, as Costello puts it, “the record we would have cut when we were 18, if anyone had let us." Released July 22, 2022, the two would perform tracks from the album with The Imposters and Charlie Sexton, including an appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon on August 10, 2022 and at the MTF benefit concert:  Elvis Costello & Friends -- King of America & Other Realms.  For more about Rusty watch EC's interview with Jimmy Fallon on August 10, 2022:  The Tonight Show.

Copies of this album were signed by Elvis Costello and Allan Mayes in August 2022 when they were together in New York to perform on The Tonight Show and at the Pier 17 show of Elvis Costello & The Imposters with an opening set by Nick Lowe & Los Straightjackets.
